Revit does not have the intense detail of AutoCad, but it still details to 1/32" and usually not much more is required than that. The system of families is amazing and makes everything from wall types to columns to ceiling lights very editable across the whole project. From what I've seen there is really no comparison to the way Revit can realistically construct a 3d building. ![]() Revit is very similar to autocad in its commands and many of the shortcuts are the same. The first firm I worked for used AutoCad solely, and looking back they are very far behind where they could be if they made the transition. I've been working for a firm and had to learn Revit, and although it is complex and takes time, it makes it much easier to coordinate between the architects and engineers.
